Rochester Fire Department Extinguishes Duplex Fire

ROCHESTER — Interim Chief Mark Dupuis reports that Rochester firefighters responded to a structure fire early this morning.

At 12:37 a.m., Monday, the Rochester Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 1 Cocheco Ave. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke coming from the second-floor apartment and quickly knocked down flames in the kitchen, where the fire originated.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire, but four adults were displaced from the home.

The Durham, Milton and Berwick Fire Departments all assisted on scene while firefighters from Farmington and Barrington provided station coverage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
