Rochester City Hall Electrical Service Disruption Due to Annex Construction Planned for July 25

ROCHESTER — City Manager Daniel Fitzpatrick reports that, as part of the City Hall Annex Renovation project, the electrical system that serves City Hall and the Rochester Central Fire Station will be disrupted on Tuesday, July 25 from 8 a.m. until approximately noontime.

As a result of this electrical shut-off, City Hall offices will be limited in their ability to function and to serve the public. However, the City Hall offices that serve the public will be expected to remain open to greet and assist the public to the extent possible.

City Manager Fitzpatrick has authorized individual department heads to allow certain staff members to work from home or be absent on July 25 unless their function directly serves public customers.

The City Manager’s Office, City Clerk’s Office, Welfare, Finance, Building Zoning & Licensing Services and Planning will remain open. Other offices, including Human Resources and the Business Office, may be closed during the outage.

“We expect to be without electrical service for half of the day on July 25. While this may present an inconvenience for some, we will do our best to accommodate all of the service needs of our residents, visitors, and business community,” Fitzpatrick said. “This is a planned outage as we continue to make progress on the City Hall Annex project, and I want to thank everyone in advance for their patience and cooperation.”

The Rochester Police Station and Revenue Buildings will not be effected.
