Maynard Ramps up Planning for 150th Anniversary, Looks for Volunteers to Assist on Steering Committee

MAYNARD —  Town Administrator Kevin Sweet is pleased to announce that planning for Maynard’s 150th anniversary celebration is underway and that interested residents are encouraged to serve on the Sesquicentennial Steering Committee.

Maynard will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the town, which will commence on April 19, 2020, and will include a year’s worth of activities to recognize and honor the establishment of the community.

On July 5, the Maynard Board of Selectmen authorized Town Administrator Sweet to establish a Sesquicentennial Steering Committee, which will provide leadership and coordination for the celebration.

“We know events as big as the sesquicentennial require years of planning, so we want to put together a talented group of individuals who are dedicated to making this a fantastic celebration for the community,” Town Administrator Sweet said. “We encourage everyone who is interested in assisting with this event to sign up for the steering committee.”

Residents and business owners who would like to be a part of the Sesquicentennial Steering Committee should email maynard150th@townofmaynard.net by the end of July.
