West Newbury Police to Reward Kids For Cycling Safely

WEST NEWBURY — Chief Art Reed is pleased to announce that the West Newbury Police department will be issuing a different kind of ticket to children this summer to encourage safe behavior.

Kids that wear their helmets while riding their bicycles this summer can receive vouchers from police officers for a free slice of pizza from West Newbury Pizza Company. Officers will carry coupons with them to give out to children who they see riding their bikes safely.

“This is a fun way to encourage kids to ride their bikes safely,” Chief Reed said. “We hope that these tickets will motivate them to wear their helmets, and we are glad to reward them for doing so.”

Kids who receive a pizza ticket should redeem it at West Newbury Pizza Company before Sept. 1.
