Photos: Georgetown Police and Fire Departments Welcome Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito After Earning Communications Grant
GEORGETOWN — Fire Chief Fred Mitchell and Police Chief Donald Cudmore are pleased to announce that Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito visited the Georgetown public safety building today to congratulate the departments on earning a technology grant that will allow the two departments to better share data.
The $69,000 grant, awarded through the state’s Community Compact Cabinet Information Technology Grant Program, will provide the departments with the funding they need to transition toward a shared incident reporting software.
Polito visited the two departments to learn more about how the grant will be used and the types of information the two departments use when responding to emergencies of all types in town.
