Rochester Fire Department Extinguishes Fire at City Hall Annex

ROCHESTER — Chief Norman Sanborn reports that the Rochester Fire Department extinguished a fire at the City Hall Annex last night.

On Friday, May 26, at approximately 8 p.m., Rochester Fire responded to the City Hall Annex, 31 Wakefield St., on a report of a fire.

Arriving companies were met with fire on the second floor in the ceiling. Crews made an aggressive attack and put out the fire quickly, containing damage to the area of origin.

On scene, the Rochester Fire Department was assisted by the Dover Fire Department, while the Milton Fire Department provided station coverage.

Firefighters cleared the scene around 10:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.

The building, which is currently being renovated, sustained approximately $20,000 worth of damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Rochester Fire Department.
