Whitman Police Investigating String of Tire Slashings

WHITMAN — Chief Scott Benton reports that the Whitman Police Department is actively investigating a string of tire slashings.

Officers were called to Commercial Street at approximately 6 a.m., Tuesday, and upon their arrival observed that the tires had been slashed on 11 vehicles. The vandalism remains under investigation and there are no suspects at this time.

“Our officers are working hard to track down whoever is responsible for the damage to these cars,” Chief Benton said. “Anyone who believes they may have information about these acts of vandalism is encouraged to contact the Whitman Police immediately.”
