CONCORD – Chief Joseph O’Connor is pleased to announce that the Concord Police Department will host a bike safety rodeo this weekend to provide free inspections and safety tips to residents.

WHEN:

Saturday, May 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE:

Alcott Elementary School, 93 Laurel St., Concord

WHAT:

The Concord Police Department, in partnership with ATA Cycle of Concord, will check the safety of bikes and helmets, inform attendees about bicycle laws, and explain how to effectively and safely share the road with pedestrians and motor vehicles. The overall goal of the event is to promote safety for bicyclists, drivers and pedestrians.

Participants are asked to bring their own bikes and helmets to the rodeo for safety checks and inspections. Free ice cream will be served to all who attend.

“With the warm weather approaching, more bicyclists will be on the road and we want to ensure that young riders especially know the rules of the road and have a properly fitting helmet,” Chief O’Connor said. “Thank you to ATA Cycle of Concord and Minuteman High School for working with us on this event.”
