ROCHESTER — Chief Norman Sanborn reports that the Rochester Fire Department battled a fire in a mobile home Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to 6 Lilac Drive, a mobile home in Briar Ridge Estates at 3 p.m., Sunday for a report of a fire. Engines 3, 5 and 7 responded to the scene, with Engine 3 arriving first to find the single-wide structure in flames, prompting a first alarm to be struck.

It took crews approximately one hour to get the fire under control. The home was occupied at the time of the fire, but there were no injuries. The home has been deemed a total loss.

The Rochester Fire Department received mutual aid from several area departments, including Dover, Barrington, Somersworth, Durham and Milton for station coverage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but officials do not believe it is suspicious at this time.
