ANDOVER — Chief Patrick Keefe reports that the Andover Police Department arrested a man for trafficking heroin yesterday.

OSVALDO MOTA, AGE 20, OF RANDOLPH is charged with Trafficking in Heroin and Distribution of a Class A Substance (Heroin).

On Thursday, April 13, at approximately 11:40 a.m., members of the Andover Detective Division’s Substance Abuse Unit were conducting surveillance in the River Road area when they observed what appeared to be a drug transaction.

A subsequent investigation resulted in the seizure of approximately 207 grams of heroin.

“I would like to commend the detectives on this case for recognizing that something was not right and using their training to investigate,” Chief Keefe said. “As a result of their strong police work, a significant amount of heroin was taken off our streets.”
