Statement of Reading Police Chief in Response to Arrest of Alleged Serial Bank Robber

READING — The following is a statement from Reading Police Chief Mark D. Segalla:

“I have been notified that a man named Albert Taderera was arrested by federal authorities while trying to board an international flight late last week.

“Taderera is suspected in February’s robbery of the Salem Five Bank on Walkers Brook Drive in Reading as well as at least 15 other bank robberies. While the investigation remains open and ongoing, I commend the multijurisdictional effort put forward by municipal, state, and federal law enforcement officers, who worked diligently to bring this dangerous suspect to justice.”
