Ipswich Public Health Department to Host Dental Clinic for Children

IPSWICH — The Ipswich Public Health Department, in conjunction with the Ipswich Public Schools, is pleased to announce free preventative dental care for children in the community through a clinic provided by the Polished Teeth team.

WHEN:

Wednesday, April 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WHERE:

Ipswich Town Hall, Room C
25 Green St.
Ipswich, MA 01938

WHO:

  • Ellen Gould, RDH, MPA
  • Colleen Fermon, Ipswich Director of Public Health
  • Dental Hygienists from the Polished Teeth team

WHAT:

Polished Teeth will be providing free dental screenings, cleanings, sealants and fluoride treatments for children through the Ipswich Public Health Department’s sixth annual clinic. Adults will also be able to receive a screening and cleaning for a discounted rate of $49.

Regular dental visits are important to prevent cavities and tooth decay, and to find and treat oral health problems early.

Last year, 13 children and 13 adults attended the clinic, and to date, 111 people have been seen.

“We are so pleased to be able to offer this program to our residents again this year,” Fermon said. “Dental hygiene is such an important thing to teach children at a young age to ensure they develop healthy habits. We hope to see a large turnout for the clinic this year.”

This dental clinic is just one of many resources the Ipswich Public Health Department regularly provides to the community throughout the year including flu clinics, wellness clinics, sun safety programs, food safety training and more.

The dental clinic is available by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, contact Ellen Gould at 508-237-5378 or gould.ellen@gmail.com.
