Sudbury Fire Department Battles 3-Alarm House Fire
SUDBURY — Chief William Miles reports that Sudbury Fire Department is on scene of a 3-alarm house fire this evening.
Firefighters responded to 15 Whitetail Lane around 7:30 p.m. after family members reported fire in the home, a 2.5 story wood frame house.
No injuries have been reported. Chief Miles reports that a father and juvenile son were home at the time, and the mother and daughter were running an errand. The son heard the smoke alarm and alerted his father. The two evacuated the home safely.
Firefighters from Wayland, Maynard, Lincoln, Concord, Hudson, Acton, and Weston are at the scene assisting the Sudbury Fire Department. Crews from Framingham, Marlborough, and Bedford are covering Sudbury at this time.
The heavy fire was knocked down shortly after 8 p.m., but there is extensive overhauling and serious damage to the home. The family will not be able to return to the house this evening. This remains an active scene, and there is no word on an origin or cause at this time.
Motorists are urged to avoid Sawmill Lane and the intersection of Concord and Lincoln Roads near Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, as fire apparatus are working in the area and using fire hydrants in the neighborhood.
This is a breaking news update. More information will be released as it becomes available.
