Randolph Police Arrest Boston Man, Seize Two Illegal Handguns, After Investigation

RANDOLPH — Chief William Pace reports that the Randolph Police Department arrested a man and took two illegal handguns off the streets after a department investigation into illegal firearm possession in the community.

DARIUS BASS, AGE 22, OF BOSTON was arrested Friday and charged with:

  • Possession/Carrying a Firearm (Two Counts)
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Two Counts)
  • Unlawful Possession of a High Capacity Magazine
  • Unlawful Possession of Ammunition (Two Counts)

Randolph Police detectives and patrol officers were investigating a previous shooting incident on Howe Circle when two suspects were observed. BASS was identified by officers at the scene.

“This is a fine example of timely, aggressive work by our Randolph Police investigators, who successfully identified and arrested a dangerous felon and took two firearms permanently out of circulation,” Chief Pace said.

The second suspect is currently being sought by Randolph Police. He is believed to have fled Randolph.

The lead detective in this case is Detective Michael Tuitt.

BASS is being held without bail and will be arraigned at Quincy District Court on Monday.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
