READING — Chief Mark D. Segalla reports that the Reading Police Department is actively investigating an armed robbery that occurred last night and seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

On Thursday, Dec. 29, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Reading Police responded to JK’s Market, 212 Main St., for a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect entered the establishment, brandished a black hunting knife and then fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

Reading Police conducted a thorough search of the area, but were unable to locate the suspect, who may have fled the area by vehicle.

The suspect is described as a male between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, a black mask, black gloves, gray sweatpants and black and gray sneakers.

Reading Police are investigating whether this robbery is connected to the robbery at P&S Convenience on Tuesday, Dec. 27.

Anyone with any information is asked to immediately contact the Reading Police Department at 781-944-1212.
