JGPR Honored with Four National Public Relations Industry Awards at National Press Club on Tuesday

John Guilfoil Named National Public Affairs Professional of the Year for Second Consecutive Year, Also Named Crisis Manager of the Year

WASHINGTON and GEORGETOWN, Mass. — John Guilfoil Public Relations LLC is honored to announce that three members of the team traveled to the nation’s capital yesterday and accepted four national awards from PR News for their work over the past year.

The 12:30 p.m. event, held at the National Press Club on Tuesday, Dec. 7, honored the top professionals in Public Relations in 2016 who make communications matter every day.

For the second year in a row, John Guilfoil, the principal owner of the company, received the Public Affairs Professional of the Year award for successfully spearheading public affairs campaigns for the company’s police, fire, municipal, school and nonprofit clients.

Guilfoil also won in the category of Crisis Manager of the Year for his work with multiple clients, including the Exeter, N.H. Police Department and the Taunton Fire Department.

Both awards were competitive, with multiple finalists in each category.

“The public sector rightly deserves effective public relations advice and communications strategy, and this company endeavors every day to do just that,” Guilfoil said. “I am humbled and honored to accept these awards in front of my peers in the public relations industry, and I am grateful to our clients for allowing us to be part of their teams.”

Account Executive Jessica Sacco and Digital Services Manager Chelsea Belliveau were also honored during the awards ceremony. Both were named among 45 other public relations agency professionals from across the country as “Rising PR Stars 30 & Under.” The award honors blossoming public relations leaders excelling at communications.

“The clients we work with at JGPR have a meaningful impact on people’s lives, and I am thankful to be able to play a small role alongside them,” Belliveau said. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for my colleagues and am proud to be part of a team that has worked so hard to make this company the success it is today.”

PR News also recognized the Top Places to Work in PR, awarded Diversity and Inclusion Campaigns and inducted five public relations industry leaders into its Hall of Fame. Click here for more information on the ceremony and to view a complete list of winners.
