The Psychological Center, Inc. Announces its Sponsor a Bed Campaign
LAWRENCE — The Psychological Center, Inc. (TPC) is pleased to announce its newest fundraising initiative, the Sponsor a Bed Campaign.
Money raised through the Sponsor a Bed Campaign will benefit TPC’s Daybreak Shelter, which provides temporary shelter, up to 30 days, for homeless men and women over the age of 18.
Daybreak is one of the last “wet” shelters in the state, meaning it allows individuals under the influence of alcohol or substances to stay, though it does not allow alcohol or substances to be used or brought onto the property. Breakfast and dinner are served to guests every day.
“Sponsoring a bed at Daybreak Shelter means providing comfort, food and hope for those suffering from homelessness,” said Carina Pappalardo, CEO of The Psychological Center. “This time of year is particularly difficult for those who have nowhere to go, so any donation helps.”
The campaign offers multiple levels of sponsorship. To sponsor a bed for one year costs $1,000 ($2.75 per day) and will provide a guest in need with a bed that has fresh linens, clean towels, two nutritious meals per day, a hot shower, toiletries, a safe and welcoming environment, as well as numerous resources to help them get back on their feet.
If they want, donors can have their name placed on the bed as a sponsor, as well as on the TPC website.
Other options include sponsoring a guest in need for $100, which provides new guests with a welcome kit that contains wellness items and educational material, or sponsoring an event for 50 guests for $500, such as a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, or an educational opportunity.
For more information, visit TPC’s website or call 978-291-2262.
