BOXBOROUGH — Chief Warren B. Ryder and Boxborough Police Department are pleased to announce that Boxborough Regional Animal Control has added a new full-service vehicle to its fleet.

Chief Ryder oversees Animal Control, which serves Boxborough, Littleton and Stow under a regional shared services agreement between the three communities.

The vehicle is a 2016 Ford F-250 pick-up truck with a protective cap over the bed for the safe transport of animals. The truck was delivered earlier this month to Animal Control Officer Phyllis Tower.

“The new animal control vehicle allows for a higher level of service for all of the towns participating in the program,” Chief Ryder said.

The new vehicle is equipped with emergency lights to provide for roadway safety as well as a two-way radio capable of immediate communication with the each of towns’ Public Safety Dispatch centers.

“This new vehicle solidifies the partnership that the town of Stow has entered into,” said Stow Police Chief William Bosworth. “We are now able to provide top-notch animal control services to the community.”

“The addition of a fully equipped vehicle further enhances the services provided to our communities,” said Littleton Police Chief Matthew King. “The vehicle shows the commitment to provide the best in animal control for our communities and further enhances this multi-town partnership.”

Residents with animal control issues may directly contact their local dispatch centers in their respective communities for assistance:

  • Boxborough: 978-264-1750
  • Littleton: 978-540-2300
  • Stow: 978-897-4545
