Melrose School Committee Chairman Margaret Driscoll Receives Award from MASC
MELROSE — Superintendent Cyndy Taymore is pleased to announce that Melrose School Committee Chairman Margaret Driscoll received an award from the Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC), Inc. in recognition of her support for children and education in the Commonwealth.

Driscoll earned the All-State Committee award during the MASC conference, which occurred on Nov. 2-5.
“Margaret has been a longstanding member of the Melrose School Committee, dedicating many hours of her free time championing for students and supporting education for all,” Superintendent Taymore said. “She is extremely deserving of this award and I thank her for her unwavering commitment to not only Melrose, but for all communities in Massachusetts.”
The annual award was developed in 1996 by the MASC Board of Directors. It recognizes school committee members who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the education and welfare of children, and who have made significant contribution to their community or their school committee, either through specific action or as an inspiration and role model for their peers and constituents.
MASC recognized Driscoll for her work over the last year, which included advocating for quality education at the State House, assisting new school committee members across the state by sharing best practices and continuously keeping community members in Melrose up-to-date on pertinent school information through thoughtful and well-informed social media posts.
“This award is really an honor for our entire committee, as we all work together for the benefit of students,” Driscoll said. “It’s a privilege and a pleasure to serve the committee, the community, and most importantly, all Melrose Public Schools’ learners, from our youngest Early Childhood Center children, to our young adults about to embark on college, a career, or military pathways. I care deeply for them all.”
