Burlington Police Arrest Three, Seeking One After Counterfeit Bills Passed at Multiple Stores

BURLINGTON — Chief Michael Kent reports that the Burlington Police Department is actively searching for a man who allegedly passed counterfeit money at two different retail locations today.

Just before 2:30 p.m., officers responded to Bed Bath & Beyond, 3 Abbott Park, for a report of two males attempting to purchase goods with a counterfeit $100 bill.

Upon arrival, officers learned the suspects fled the scene when confronted by a store clerk.

At 3 p.m., Burlington Police received another report of male suspects passing a counterfeit $100 bill at The Paper Store, 43 Middlesex Turnpike, approximately one block away from Bed Bath & Beyond.

Officers arrived quickly and confronted all four suspects in the area of Middlesex Commons.

One of the four men fled on foot. The other three suspects are in custody.

The Burlington Police K-9 unit, assisted by Woburn Police and Lexington Police units, are actively searching for the remaining suspect.

The three men were transported to the Burlington Police Department, where they are currently being processed.

A reverse 911 call has been issued to area residents.

This is a breaking news update. More information will be released as it becomes available.
