GEORGETOWN — John Guilfoil Public Relations LLC is pleased to announce that the company has been nominated as a finalist for two major public relations industry awards from the trade group PR News.
The PR News Digital PR Awards honor “the most outstanding communications initiatives and organizations” of the year who made extensive use of digital media and multimedia in their campaigns.
This year, John Guilfoil Public Relations has been nominated and named a finalist in two categories: Cause Marketing and Public Affairs. Both honors are for the company’s work with the nationwide opioid epidemic, including the efforts of the Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative, the Gloucester ANGEL Initiative, the Arlington Outreach Initiative, the Dixon, Ill. Lee County Safe Passage Initiative, Operation Hope of Scarborough, Maine, and EB HOPE of East Bridgewater.
“Police departments, sheriffs, and prosecutors all across the nation have long been on the front lines of the nation’s addiction epidemic, and in countless cases, the hand of law enforcement is being used to reach those suffering from substance use disorders to help them retake their lives. I am incredibly proud to call attention to those efforts,” said John Guilfoil, the company’s principal owner. “The staff of JGPR has put in countless hours on media relations, content writing, and direct outreach to police departments and healthcare providers. I am grateful to PR News for recognizing their hard work and effort.”
In Georgetown, the team of Guilfoil, Jessica Sacco, Chelsea Belliveau, and Tricia Tiedt has devoted countless hours in the past year to not only communicating the efforts of our clients but also helping them formalize their own programs and services.
“Communication is vital when it comes to law enforcement responding to the opioid epidemic. You have a vulnerable population that historically does not have a good relationship with police. Communication and media relations — seeing a story in the local newspaper — helps build trust between these two groups,” Guilfoil said.
As a finalist, JGPR will either be named the winner or receive an honorable mention in the two categories during an awards luncheon on Nov. 16, 2016 at the Yale Club in New York.
