*UPDATE* Bedford Police Investigating Motor Vehicle Crash Involving Motorcycle

The following release identifies the drivers involved in last week’s crash and includes newly released photos of the incident.

BEDFORD, N.H. — Chief John Bryfonski reports that the Bedford Police Department is investigating a crash involving a motor vehicle and motorcycle last week that left the motorcyclist injured.

On Wednesday, Sept. 21 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Bedford police responded to the area of Route 114 and White Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle accident with injury. Upon arrival, officers found northbound traffic stopped on Route 114 due to paving happening further up the road.

After an initial investigation including witness accounts, police determined that KEVIN BARTLETT, AGE 65, OF WEARE was making a U-turn on Route 114 in an effort to avoid northbound traffic. BARTLETT was driving a 2016 Hyundai Sonata.

While the vehicle was turning around, JON SHANK, AGE 37, OF WEARE, the driver of a 2016 Indian Dark Horse motorcycle, was travelling southbound hit the front right portion of the vehicle. Both drivers were transported by ambulance to an area hospital. SHANK sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Both drivers are cooperating with police during the investigation.
