PHOTOS: Gloucester Fire Knocks Down Fire at Detached Garage

GLOUCESTER — Chief Eric Smith reports that the Gloucester Fire Department responded to a one-alarm fire in a detached garage at a residence today.

At approximately 2 p.m., firefighters responded to 50 Ledge Rd. for reports of a fire in the detached structure. The fire was quickly knocked down by the first arriving units.

Damage to the structure was severe, and the garage is likely a total loss. Neither the owner of the building nor any firefighters were injured.

The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.
