*Joint Press Release* Concord Police and Fire Departments to Host Public Safety Open House
CONCORD — Police Chief Joseph O’Connor and Fire Chief Mark R. Cotreau are pleased to announce that the Police and Fire Departments will host a public safety open house next week and invite residents to attend.
WHEN
Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WHERE
Concord Public Safety Building, 219 Walden St.
Parking will be available at Concord District Court, 305 Walden St., and the Alcott Elementary School, 93 Laurel St.
WHO
Concord Police and Fire Departments
WHAT
The open house will include tours of the police and fire departments, free ice cream and an opportunity to go inside police cruisers and fire trucks. Police officers and firefighters will be on site to interact with community members and answer questions.
Certified police officers will also be available to install and inspect car seats, and residents will be able to drop off sharps and unused/old medications at collection kiosks.
“This is bound to be a fun event where the community will have the chance to get to know their public safety officers in a relaxed setting,” Chief O’Connor said. “It is also a great time for residents to drop off medications and sharps, or install a car seat if they’re in need.”
“We’re excited to bring the public into the fire and police stations and allow children the opportunity to get an up close look at fire apparatus and police vehicles,” Chief Cotreau said. “We encourage all who are interested to attend!”
