Maynard Fire Chief Earns Chief Fire Officer Designation
MAYNARD — The Maynard Fire Department is pleased to announce that Chief Anthony Stowers has been re-accredited as Chief Fire Officer (CFO) for the town.

Members of the Commission on Professional Credentialing met on July 15 to re-designate Chief Stowers, who is one of only 1,175 CFOs worldwide.
The CFO program is a voluntary process designed to recognize individuals who demonstrate excellence in seven measured components including, Experience, Education, Professional Development, Professional Contributions, Association Membership, Community Involvement and Technical Competencies. Chiefs apply for accreditation every three years.
To maintain the designation, individuals need to show they have continued to develop as a CFO in four areas: Professional Development, Professional Contributions, Active Association Membership and Community Involvement. Chief Stowers was first awarded CFO credentials in March of 2013.
“This designation is something I take very seriously and am excited and honored to have once again earned this accreditation for the fire department and the community,” Chief Stowers said. “I remain committed to providing the highest level of service to our residents.”
A Board of Review, consisting of members of the fire and emergency services profession, academia and municipal agencies review each application and recommends successful candidates for designation to the Commission.
