*Joint Statement* Bridgewater, East Bridgewater and West Bridgewater Police Departments Thank Communities for Support

BRIDGEWATER — Bridgewater Police Chief Christopher D. Delmonte, East Bridgewater Police Chief Scott C. Allen and West Bridgewater Police Chief Victor R. Flaherty release the following letter to the residents of Bridgewater, East Bridgewater and West Bridgewater.

To the residents of the Bridgewaters,

Over the past few months there has been renewed attention on issues surrounding crime and neighborhood policing. There have been a few negative incidents from around the nation, not always accurately reported, but ultimately perceived as an inherent law enforcement bias.

There have been other incidents that have caused us as police managers concern about the impact the actions of a few have on our entire profession. There have also been targeted assassinations of police officers that have disturbed us as citizens and guardians of our Constitution.

Through it all, we have never been more committed to the residents and citizens we serve, and proud of the men and women we work with on all three police departments. Each community has formed long-standing relationships and regularly collaborate on issues plaguing our area. We recognize as imperfect human beings and police officers, there is always room for improvement, and our work, if done correctly, often goes unnoticed.

However, we will not be deterred from our ultimate goal of insuring a safe environment for everyone to live, work, raise a family or simply pursue happiness.

Please know that your words of support, letters, cards, cookies, balloons, flowers and ribbons are meaningful to us and greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
Christopher D. Delmonte

Scott C. Allen
Chief of Police, East Bridgewater

Victor R. Flaherty
Chief of Police, West Bridgewater
