Two National Grid Workers Shocked While Working in Andover

ANDOVER — Chief Patrick Keefe reports that the Andover Police Department is investigating an incident where two National Grid workers were shocked while working in town tonight.

At 5:45 p.m., police received a report that two National Grid workers, who are both in their 40s, were shocked while conducting a planned electrical upgrade at the Raytheon Company on Lowell Street.

The two men were working on an electrical box when they were shocked. They sustained electrical burns. One man was transported by Boston MedFlight to Massachusetts General Hospital. The other was taken by Andover Fire Rescue to an area hospital.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is responding to the scene. The incident remains under investigation by the Andover Police Department.
