BURLINGTON — Police Chief Michael Kent reports that the Burlington Police Department is investigating a truck fire that occurred in the parking lot of a local Catholic church early this morning.

At approximately 1 a.m. Burlington Police received a report of a truck fire in a parking lot adjacent to a building on the property of St. Margaret Parish, 111 Winn St. Burlington Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene and firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

“This case is currently under active investigation,” Chief Kent said. “At this time, we do not believe that this truck fire and the recent statue vandalism at St. Margaret’s Parish are related.”
