Gloucester Police Create PSA for Safe Sharps and Needle Disposal Program

GLOUCESTER — Chief Leonard Campanello announces that the Gloucester Police Department, along with the Fire and Health Departments and the City of Gloucester, have created a public service announcement (PSA) and informational sign regarding the proper methods for reporting and disposing of used sharps and needles found in public spaces.gloucester psa

If you find a needle on the sidewalk or other public area, do NOT pick it up. Instead, please call the Gloucester Police Department’s non-emergency line, 978-283-1212. Provide the location of the needle with as much detail as possible, so the responding officer can locate the item.

You can have an impact on the health and safety of Gloucester by doing your part and reporting these items to police.

For more information, visit the city’s website, or view the PSA.
