Chelmsford Police Locate Elderly Female’s Body in Parking Lot

CHELMSFORD — Chief James Spinney reports that the Chelmsford Police Department located the body of an elderly female in a parking lot today.

At approximately 7:45 a.m., Chelmsford Police responded to Sheila Avenue, where they found the body of Portia Laganas, 74, on a parking lot island.

The Chelmsford Fire Department, the Massachusetts State Police and Trinity EMS also responded and pronounced Laganas dead at the scene.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office was notified and at this time the incident is no longer considered a criminal matter.

No additional information will be released.
