BOXBOROUGH — Chief Warren Ryder is pleased to announce that the Boxborough Police Department today hosted a check presentation event for Cops for Kids With Cancer, which donated a check for $5,000 to a five-year-old Boxborough resident named Grant, who suffers from cancer.

Retired Boston Police Superintendent-in-Chief and Chairman of Cops for Kids with Cancer, Robert Faherty, presented the check and several gifts to Grant and his family at the Boxborough Police Station.

“Cops for Kids With Cancer is a wonderful charity that provides tremendous opportunities for children and their families, and we are honored to host a presentation like this for one of our younger residents,” Chief Ryder said. “It is always devastating to hear that anyone, especially a child, has cancer, so we are always eager to participate in positively impacting that child’s life in any way we can.”
