Feeney, from Waltham, attended the academy from Oct. 5 through Nov. 6, which is run by the State 911 Department. There, she learned 911 dispatch protocol, including:

  • Silent call procedures
  • Police and fire dispatching
  • Missing and exploited children training
  • Critical incident training
  • Call simulation training
  • MedFlight procedures

Feeney is a graduate from Endicott College and holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and psychology. She previously worked at the Waltham Police Department as a cadet and has experience with dispatching non-emergency calls, processing female prisoners and answering general questions from the public.

“We are excited to have Meghan join the team at the Bedford Police Department,” Chief Bongiorno said. “Her training at the Public Safety Communications Academy, coupled with her experience in Waltham, will serve our department and community well.”
