Groveland Police Department to Host “Touch-A-Truck” Event in Partnership with Langley-Adams Library

GROVELAND — Chief Robert Kirmelewicz and Deputy Chief Jeffrey Gillen are pleased to announce that the Groveland Police Department and Touch-A-Truck(1)the Langley-Adams Library will be co-sponsoring a “Touch-A-Truck” event next week at the Langley-Adams Library/Town Hall parking lot on Monday, Sept. 28 from 5-7 p.m.

“Touch-A-Truck” provides residents, especially children, with an exciting opportunity to get hands on with law enforcement vehicles. There will be approximately eight cruisers and fire trucks at the event this year. Children will be able to get up close, go inside, and take pictures with each vehicle and the firefighter or police officer who operates them.

“We are excited to be hosting another event like this here in Groveland,” Deputy Chief Gillen said. “The kids love getting to see the trucks up-close and meet the firefighters. We hosted a similar event a few years ago and everyone enjoyed it, so we are hoping to have the same success this year.”

The “Touch-A-Truck” event is free and open to the public.
