GROVELAND — Police Chief Robert J. Kirmelewicz reports that the Groveland Police Department is investigating the robbery of the TD Bank branch on Main Street on Sunday morning.

At 11:37 Sunday morning, a man walked into the branch and handed a note to the teller, claiming he was armed with a gun and a knife and demanding money.

The teller handed the suspect an unknown quantity of cash and he fled. The investigation so far indicates that the suspect fled south on Rt. 97/School Street toward the Town of Georgetown.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, approximately 5-foot-11, weighting 160-170 lbs. He was wearing a blue Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap with white letters and a white brim, a black hooded raincoat, blue jeans, sunglasses and black and white tennis shoes.

Groveland Police are investigating the robbery, led by Detective Steven Petrone. The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force is also investigating.

No one was injured.

Anyone with information on the robbery or who may recognize the suspect is urged to to call the Groveland Police Department at 978-521-1212. All callers may remain anonymous.
