West Newbury Police Announce National Night Out Activities

WEST NEWBURY – Chief Lisa A. Holmes is happy to announce that the West Newbury Police Department is hosting free festivities to celebrate National Night Out.

nno-2015National Night Out is a campaign designed to promote partnerships between police and fire officials and their communities to foster relationships and improve safety in neighborhoods. It occurs the first Tuesday in August.

Tomorrow, from 5-8 p.m., head to Pentucket Regional High School, 24 Main St., for a chance to look inside police cars, fire trucks, Department of Public Works vehicles, tow trucks and more! The Essex County Sheriff’s Department will be on scene to offer K-9 demonstrations.

Children can also hit the dunk tank, bounce house, get their faces painted and play games for prizes while listening to music and munching on snacks like cotton candy and popcorn.

“We hope to see our residents come out and enjoy the warm weather while getting to know their public safety officers,” Chief Holmes said. “We’re looking forward to celebrating National Night Out with the community.”
