MAYNARD — Town Administrator Kevin Sweet would like to invite the community to attend a visioning meeting next month to determine the location and type of housing residents would like to see in the town going forward.
Join the Town of Maynard and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) for a public forum on Wednesday, July 1, at 7 p.m. in the lower level of Town Hall, 195 Main St.
“This is a great opportunity for citizens to come out and share their ideas, opinions or concerns about upcoming housing developments in the community,” Town Administrator Sweet said. “We encourage all to attend to learn more and be part of the discussion.”
July 1 is the first of two public meetings. Feedback collected will be used to develop a Housing Production Plan (HPP) that will guide market-rate and state-mandated affordable housing in the town while meeting the local needs and demand over the next five years. A presentation and discussion will include information on:
• The benefits of a Housing Production Plan
• Local housing needs and demand
• Barriers to housing development in town
• Sites for housing development
• Potential housing goals
To share your thoughts on current and future housing opportunities in Maynard, please complete a brief survey before August 15 at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/maynardhpp.
For more information about the Maynard Housing Production Plan, contact Karina Milchman at 617-933-0738 or kmilchman@mapc.com.
