Arlington Police Arrest Man for Breaking and Entering

ARLINGTON – Police Chief Frederick Ryan reports that the Arlington Police Department arrested a man on Tuesday night for allegedly breaking into a business on Broadway in Arlington.

GLEN KERIVAN, AGE 55, OF ARLINGTON, was arrested after an Arlington Police Officer observed him exiting the Broadway Market as a security alarm was going off.

The officer was nearby working traffic enforcement for the Arlington Police Department Operation Safe Streets traffic initiative when he heard the alarm.

The officer made contact with KERIVAN and detained him. The Arlington Police Department K-9, and soon after, the K9 Unit that was called in tracked directly to where he was being detained.

KERIVAN is being charged with Burglary, Breaking and Entering, Destruction/Vandalism of Property.

“This was simply great police work,” Chief Ryan said.  “Our officer responded appropriately to the incident, and his quick response resulted in a successful arrest.  He also may have prevented any merchandise from being stolen from this store or other businesses from being vandalized.”

These are allegations.  All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
