Littleton Police Arrest Two for Breaking and Entering
LITTLETON — Police Chief Matthew J. King reports that the Littleton Police Department arrested two men this afternoon for allegedly breaking into at a Manion Place residence.
KEITH BABCOCK, AGE 32, OF SEABROOK, N.H. and MICHAEL MEUCCI, AGE 32, OF CONCORD, N.H. were captured as they allegedly attempted to flee through the front and back doors of a home they had just broken into, in broad daylight.
An alert neighbor noticed two men, who had no business at the home, breaking in and entering the residence and called police at 2:50 p.m.. Police responded within minutes and came upon the two men. MEUCCI attempted to run out the front door and was quickly captured by responding officers. BABCOCK tried to flee out the back door and get into a motor vehicle, but a Littleton Police sergeant and patrolman were waiting for him on the other side of the home, and he was captured as well.
The two men allegedly broke into the home and removed a safe and several other items, which they had piled up by the rear door.
“This is a fantastic example of community policing at its best. An alert neighbor had presence of mind to call the police immediately, and our officers responded in great numbers to catch two alleged felons before they could get away,” Chief King said. “I am extremely proud of our community members and our officers for handling themselves so well during a stressful and dangerous situation.”
The two suspects are being booked at the Littleton Police Department and ordered held on $10,000 cash bail. They will be arraigned on Monday in Ayer District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
