CONCORD — Police Chief Joseph O’Connor reports that the Concord Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing 17-year-old girl who ran away from home yesterday.

The Concord Police Department is concerned for the safety of Marissa L. Medeiros, who left her Garrison Road home around 4 p.m. Wednesday and has not been seen since.

Medeiros is a white female, with long brown hair that may be worn in a ponytail. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt. She may be carrying a black backpack.

Multiple Concord Police units, Concord firefighters, and police units from other agencies including multiple K-9 units, Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, National Park Service Rangers, and officers attached to the North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council have conducted a thorough search of the area. During the search, Concord Police Detectives obtained information that Medeiros may attempt to travel out of the state.

The Concord Police Department has notified the MBTA, State Police, and Transit Police.

Concord Police will also be working with other agencies, including the FBI to locate Medeiros.

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Medeiros or has seen her, they are asked to call the Concord Police Department at 978-318-3400.
