Winchester Police Investigating Threat Against Students at Winchester High School
WINCHESTER — Police Chief Kenneth C. Albertelli reports that the Winchester Police Department is investigating an alleged threat made by a Winchester High School student against some of his classmates.
This afternoon, the Winchester Police Department School Resource Officer was contacted by staff at Winchester High School notifying him that a student, in a discussion with a school service provider, made reference to a specific list of students that he may wish to harm.
The Winchester Police Department is actively investigating this matter. The families of those students who were identified on the list were contacted this afternoon, out of an abundance of caution. The investigation is ongoing.
At this time, there does not appear to be any widespread threat against the school, faculty, staff, or other students. However, the Winchester Police Department has offered additional resources to Winchester Public Schools, if needed, on Monday.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
