Georgetown Police Department Announces Promotions

GEORGETOWN — Police Chief Donald C. Cudmore is pleased to report that the Georgetown Police Department recently promoted four of its officers.

Sergeant Scott Hatch was promoted to Lieutenant. He  has been with the Department since 1987 and started as a reserve Dispatcher.  He became a full-time officer in 2000 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2012.

As the Department’s Lieutenant, he will serve as the Georgetown Police Department Executive Officer and will be in command of operations.

“Lieutenant Hatch has been an exemplary leader in our department for decades, and his knowledge and experience will be invaluable in his new role as Executive Officer,” Chief Cudmore said.

Detective James Rodden was promoted to Patrol Sergeant. He has been with the department since 2001 when he started as a reserve officer.  He was promoted to full-time on 2004 and Detective in 2008.  After a very successful career as the Department’s leading detective, he will now be responsible for supervising a patrol shift as well as investigative matters that require his expertise.

Dispatcher Joanne Ballard was promoted to Full-Time Patrolman.  She has been with the department since 2004 when she started as a reserve dispatcher.  She was promoted as a full-time dispatcher in 2004 and a reserve police officer in 2006.  Upon successful admittance and completion of the MPTC Academy she will be assigned to a regular patrol shift.

Reserve Dispatcher David Rosquete was promoted to Reserve Officer.  David started with GPD in 2014 as a reserve dispatcher.  He works full-time with Oracle and resides in North Andover with his wife Bailee.

An appointment Ceremony was held earlier this week at Town Hall before the Board of Selectmen and with each officer’s family in attendance.
