Gloucester Police Arrest Alleged Heroin Dealer
GLOUCESTER — Police Chief Leonard Campanello reports that a Gloucester Police Department operation, performed with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Administration, resulted in the arrest of an alleged heroin dealer and one of his alleged customers.
“Heroin is one of the biggest evils in society, and it is pervasive and present in nearly every community,” Chief Campanello said. “We will continue to aggressively enforce the drug laws while educating the public on the dangers of this deadly drug and its ability to destroy families and neighborhoods.”
As a result of the investigation, TIMOTHY CAMILLE, AGE 43, OF GLOUCESTER, and STEPHEN SAYESS, AGE 44, OF KEY COLONY BEACH, FLA. were arrested.
CAMILLE was charged with:
• Possession of a Class A Substance (Heroin) as a Subsequent Offense
• Two Counts of Distribution of a Class A Substance (Heroin), a felony
• Possession of a Class A Substance (Heroin) with Intent to Distribute, a felony
According to the Essex District Attorney’s Office, CAMILLE was arraigned yesterday in Gloucester District Court and pleaded GUILTY. He was sentenced to serve 2 1/2 years in the county House of Corrections.
The Essex District Attorney’s Office also stated that SAYESS pleadednot guilty to Possession of a Class A Substance (Heroin) and Being Knowingly Present where Heroin is Kept and was released with a bail warning. He is due back in court on December 19 for a Pre-Trial Hearing.
The Gloucester Police Department Criminal Investigation Division served a search warrant of CAMILLE’S home on Main Street on Nov. 26. During the search, police located nearly 14 grams of heroin. CAMILLE and SAYESS were both present at the time and were arrested.
Gloucester detectives were assisted by Gloucester Police K-9 Officer Jerry Ciolino, and members of a Drug Enforcement Administration task force.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
