Georgetown Police and Fire Departments to Host Public Safety Open House

GEORGETOWN — Police Chief Donald Cudmore and Fire Chief Albert B. Beardsley announce that their respective departments will hold a fun, interactive afternoon for residents and families to visit the Public Safety Building.

WHO:

• Georgetown Police and Firefighters
• Smokey the Bear
• Sparky the Fire Dog
• Face painting by the Girl Scouts of America
• Fire Explorers Post 81
• Department of Conservation and Recreation Officials

WHAT:

• Police cars and fire trucks will be on display and kids can go inside real, working emergency vehicles
• Fire Station and Police Station sides will be open for tours
• Fire safety education
• Donna’s Mini-Muster — Hands’ on, kid’sized versions of real firefighting activities including search and rescue and handling a real fire hose
• CPR and AED displays
• Child safety and fingerprint ID program demonstrations
• Fire safety and education workshops
• October is National Fire Prevention Month!
