Chief Lauds Successful Prosecution of 2013 Burglary Case

DUNSTABLE — Police Chief James G. Downes III is pleased with the successful prosecution of woman charged with the July 2013 burglary of a residence in town.

“We are pleased with the successful resolution of this case, which came in part thanks to the vigilance of the residents of Dunstable. An alert resident immediately reported this woman’s suspicious activity to police,” Chief Downes said. “The crime of burglary remains a serious felony that impacts the quality of life of over 2 million citizens each year. Our officers remain determined to deter, detect, and hold those responsible for these and other crimes accountable. We continue to remain successful through the collaborative efforts of both police and citizens working together, as this case demonstrates.”

JULIE A. HARMON, AGE 32, OF AYER, recently pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the July 19, 2013 burglary of a home, which was ransacked and had several valuables and electronics stolen. For more information on the adjudication, please contact the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.

This case was investigated by Dunstable Police Officer Nicholas Papageorgiou and the crime scene was processed by Sergeant Darrell Gilmore. Concord Police Officer Jack Skinner was instrumental in providing a composite sketch for investigators. Members of the Groton, Pepperell, Lunenburg and Ayer Police Departments collaborated in their investigative efforts to locate the suspect.

Chief Downes also wishes to commend and thank the Office of Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan for successfully prosecuting this case.
