The Boxborough Police Department today responded to Houghton Lane for a report of a young boy struck by a motor vehicle.

Upon arrival, shortly before 5 p.m., police officers and firefighters from the Boxborough Fire Department found the boy, 8, was struck by a pickup truck as he ran onto the road from between two parked cars. He was treated at the scene and then transported by Boxborough Fire to a local hospital. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

An investigation by the Boxborough Police Department determined that there was nothing the driver could have done to avoid the accident. The driver was not speeding or impaired in any way. No citations were issued.
