Avon Fire Department Promotes Captain Matthew Lucio During Pinning Ceremony

AVON — Acting Chief Kevin Partridge is pleased to announce that Captain Matthew Lucio was officially pinned as Avon Fire Captain.  

The pinning ceremony took place on Dec. 21 during the Town of Avon Select Board meeting.  

Capt. Lucio has been a member of the Avon Fire Department for six years, starting as an on-call firefighter. He was officially appointed Captain in October.  

Capt. Lucio is academy trained, a certified paramedic and has completed the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services (MFA) Fire Officer I training course. He is

currently enrolled in the Fire Prevention Officer class offered by MFA. 

In addition to his supervisory responsibility, in his new role, Capt. Lucio will also serve as incident Commander for fires and other incidents when necessary.  

“I would like to congratulate Capt. Lucio on this accomplishment, and I wish him the best of luck in his new role,” said Acting Chief Partridge. “Capt. Lucio is a determined and dedicated individual who goes beyond his commitment to service. I look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes in this next chapter of his career.”
