TEWKSBURY – Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged a Lowell man with breaking and entering into a home on Whipple Road as a result of a months-long investigation with multiple law enforcement partners.
JOHNNY LUNA, AGE 44, OF LOWELL, was arrested and charged with:
- Breaking and Entering At Night for Felony
On Tuesday, Oct. 18, at about 7 a.m., Tewksbury Police detectives, working in collaboration with the Lowell and Chelmsford Police Departments, arrested LUNA at his home in Lowell.
LUNA is charged in connection with a March 29 breaking and entering at a home on Whipple Road in Tewksbury in which more than $40,000 worth of jewelry was stolen.
LUNA was identified as a suspect and charged as a result of a months-long investigation, which included collaboration with police in Lowell, Chelmsford, Burlington, Wilmington, Westford and Dracut. The investigation included multiple search warrants for LUNA’s home, a vehicle connected to him, as well as court-authorized use of video surveillance.
LUNA is also a suspect in multiple other incidents throughout the region.
LUNA was arraigned Wednesday in Lowell District Court, where he was ordered held on $50,000 cash bail.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
