TAUNTON — Chief Edward J. Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred this evening.
At approximately 6:50 p.m., dispatchers received a call reporting shots fired in the area of an apartment building at 30 Highland St.
Upon arrival, police located a 30-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to an area hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
At this time, police do not believe that the incident was random.
The incident remains under active investigation and no additional information is available at this time. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Taunton Police Department at 508-821-1471.
