East Bridgewater Police Cruisers Involved in Motor Vehicle Crash

EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Scott Allen reports that two East Bridgewater Police cruisers were involved in a motor vehicle crash this evening.

On Saturday, May 19, at approximately 8:15 p.m., East Bridgewater Police were clearing the scene of a serious motor vehicle crash that occurred earlier in the afternoon.

While traveling back to the police station, an unmarked East Bridgewater Police cruiser stopped in traffic and was rear-ended by a marked East Bridgewater Police cruiser, causing the unmarked vehicle to rear-end a pick-up truck.

A preliminary investigation indicates that weather was a factor in the crash.

All three vehicles sustained damage. The driver of the pick-up truck was evaluated by responding officers but declined further treatment.

The officer operating the unmarked cruiser was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

This crash remains under investigation by the East Bridgewater Police Department.
