Officer Kristin Leary, who graduated from the Lowell Police Academy in 2000, has worked for the Westford, South Hadley and Holyoke Police Departments prior to joining the Chelmsford Police

Department. She holds a master’s degree in criminal justice from Westfield State College and is an EMT.

“Officer Leary brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Chelmsford Police Department,” Chief Spinney said. “We see her as a valuable addition to our team and believe she will serve our community well.”

After completing an abbreviated field training officer program, Officer Leary will be assigned to the late night shift starting in February. Her specific skill set as a Defensive Tactics Instructor and a Taser Instructor will help the department to supplement its defensive tactics training staff.
